I have several things swirling around in my brain and none of them mesh into a great story. Therefore, I have opted to blog in bullets:
*Steve and I had an UH-MAY-ZING time in Destin at Metro 2008. It was such a blessing to meet so many great ladies that are "in the same boat" as me. What an encouragement they were, a reminder of why we do what we do, and a sounding board. Steve and I are refreshed and ready to rock and roll. We are also counting down the days until next year's conference!
*Mimi (Steve's mom) took care of the boys while we were away. She arrived on Friday with her suitcase in hand and a box of Twinkies. Thank you Mimi for braving a week with our kiddos, loving on them, and keeping them safe. AND thank you for introducing the boys to the snack cake with a self life of 2 years. They enjoyed every minute you were here and I only heard twice today, "Well, Mimi did it this way." :) We love you Mimi!
*I am tan and I love it. Tan fat IS better than white fat.
*My kids grew while I was gone. I am sad that they grew.
*I read 3 novels while we were on our trip. Not just little books. 500 pagers. I love to read and do not get the chance to while I am at home raising kids, doing chores, tending to my man, plowing the field, oh wait, what decade am I in? Seriously though, I love to read.
*My book recommendation is "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers. Wow! I cannot give the book justice by giving you a summary. Please read it. You WILL be changed. If the book doesn't stir up something, make you feel, cause you to think, or get you choked up call me and we'll talk. Even if you are not a reader, just get through chapter one and you won't want to put it down. What an amazing story of forgiveness and unconditional love! This won't be the last time you hear me talk about this book.
*I'm taking a break from cyberspace. My reasons are many and you'll hear them someday. But for now, time away from the world wide web is needed.
*It's so good to be home. I love my husband. I love my kids. I love the four of us together.

Overheard
Sitting behind us on the plane ride to Destin was a mom and her young child. The little one was probably 20 months old, definitely not a 2 year old just yet. I found myself laughing out loud at what I overheard her say to her son.
You would THINK that a mom would say to her baby "Look at the tiny houses below."
Um no, not this momma. She said, "Look at all the planned communities. Do you see the planned communities honey?"
I promise I heard her say this 7-8 times before the plane landed. Funny.

More Bongo
I know some of you may be tired of seeing Bongo. Oh, the things we do for our kids!!! The one and only thing Braxton said to his daddy today was, "Are there any pictures?" Our sweet boy is so excited to see where his monkey has been. Soooooo, bear with us for a few more days as our journey continues.
Bongo in the sunroof of our rental car. Braxton LOVES cars with windows in the ceiling! This one is for you B.

Bongo at the pool. (There's NO WAY you'll be seeing pictures of me at the pool.)

Bongo on the beach
Steve and I are in Destin for a conference. Wahoo for the beach! We did not come alone. Bongo is with us. Braxton saw the AT&T commercial several months ago about a dad taking pictures of his child's monkey while on his business trip. "Can we do that daddy?" So far Bongo has been to Vegas twice with Steve and now he's on the beach with us. You will see more pictures of Bongo this week in honor of our son!
We love you Braxton and we miss you! (Nash too.)

Conquered
Love conquers all. But not today. Today, 2 little boys conquer mommy.
I am defeated this morning. We should be pulling into the church parking lot and I should be saying, "Okay, let's use our fast feet so we won't be late!" But I'm not saying that this morning. Today I have said "Go to time out!" (4 times before 9:00 a.m.), "What is wrong with you?" (A jillion times to Nash b/c he would not let me put him down.), "Eat your breakfast." (10 times to both boys....of which only the big one put anything in his mouth.), and "Stop that!!" (I can't even count how many times to Braxton for various reasons.)
My kids should be in their prospective classrooms and I should be nestled next to my husband for the next hour lost in praise and worship and listening to our pastor give a word for today. Nope. We are home. I am not dressed for church. I have no make-up on. I haven't even brushed my teeth. I have taken everybody's temperature, no fevers. I gave Motrin and teething tablets to Nash just in case. After a jillion back arching-don't put me down-don't put that bite in my mouth-give me my paci-whopping FITS, Nash is asleep. I gave up on trying to get us all ready for church, rocked my baby for 25 minutes until he dozed off, plopped Braxton in front of Noggin, and decided to check on the blogging world.
My kids won. I am conquered. It is only 10:45 a.m. The day is just beginning. It can only get better. And it WILL!!!

Motivation
There are two things that motivate me to want to lose weight and I experienced both of them this week...
#1 Seeing myself in pictures. Blah. Pictures don't lie. I've known since Nash's birth SEVENTEEN MONTHS ago that I needed to eat better and work out more. Seeing a recent picture brings it all home.
#2 Going to Target in attempt to find a cute spring shirt. Looked around, but didn't try on a thing. Everything is teeny tiny, form fitting, sleeveless, and made of clingy cotton material that shows all rolls, nooks, and crannies.
Why do I care? I don't know. I just do.

Ramblings
I don't have anything special to blog about. I'm just tired of looking at the banana. I could come up with a spiritual illustration here. Something like, "Don't we all have bananas hidden somewhere that are old and rotten, but we just can't bare to rid of them? I had to pry that nasty banana out of Nash's hand...little did he know I had a ripe, non-bruised one waiting for him." Okay, okay, I won't whip out a sermon on you this evening. :)
A few Aylor tidbits....I enjoy saying the word tidbit by the way:
*Nash got sent home from school today due to a possible case of pink-eye. A quick trip to the doctor ruled that one out. I didn't think it was pink-eye, but we needed to check it out anyway. It's just part of his never ending cold. More Nash News: He is being a little trouble maker at school. We now call him our "bite-sized bully". He pushes friends, stands on chairs, etc. A typical 17 month old with an older brother, I suppose. He is pretty tough. I think the 2nd child has to be in order to survive. On a different note, he's got a great arm...he can throw a baseball better than his big brother. Shhh, don't tell Braxton, but Nash may be our little athlete. He can hit the ball off the tee and everything!
*Braxton wants to learn to play the guitar. Music may be his niche. He made this known as we were watching American Idol tonight. He is concerned with having to sing though. He said, "If I play the drums I don't have to sing...the drummer doesn't sing. But I really want to play the guitar." Smart kid with the drum comment. We'll look into guitar lessons if he's serious.
*Steve and I are getting ready to attend a youth pastor's conference in a few weeks. It will be my first time to leave the boys, EVER!! I am gearing up and getting emotionally ready to be away from them. It will be a good thing...for the boys and for mom and dad. We are excited and looking forward to time alone (sort of alone...when we're not in meetings). Did I mention the conference is in Destin? Great location, not excited to wear a swimsuit in a few weeks though. I will post more on our trip later.
I hope all is well with my blogging buddies! I haven't had a lot of time to comment on your posts, but I do check your sites often and LOVE seeing pictures and hearing your stories. I have so many great blogging friends....check out their links on the right.
Hopefully I will be more interesting next time....at least you don't see the banana first thing anymore.
