First Haircut
Our sweet baby doesn't look like a baby anymore....and I'm sad. We had a choice to make - get Nash's hair cut OR put beads in the back to accent his rattail. We opted for the cutting of the hair. Our trip to the salon started a little rocky, but thankfully the lollipop saved the day! I'll let the pictures explain themselves. Hopefully all of your haircutting adventures are less adventurous than ours was today!!

Miss Pattycake
Braxton attended music camp at our church this week. He had a blast doing crafts, singing, and learning about God's love! Miss Pattycake visited the children the last day of camp and then performed with them on stage at their concert on Thursday. Here are a few pictures from the concert. Enjoy!

Do I really have to do this????

Watching Miss Pattycake instead of singing! :)

Beach Pictures
The boys are I are so blessed to "go to work" with Steve during the summer. We went with the students to Panama City Beach for camp last week. We had an amazing time and are truly blessed by the experience. Although Steve was working all week, we did get to enjoy some beach time together on the last day. Enjoy the pics!
Our Family at Beach Camp

The one and only hat Nash will allow upon his head. Funny! Our sweet friend Ms. Annette gave it to Braxton several years ago and it remains a favorite in our house.

Sweet Braxton soaking up some rays.

Braxton and his caterpillar that mommy helped him build.

Sneaky Nash removing an antenna from the caterpillar.

Daddy burying Braxton.

Braxton burying Daddy.

One sleepy boy....notice the lollipop in mouth and the pacis in hand.

Home again, home again....jiggity jig.
We were at Beach Camp all last week and are now home once again...we now need to go on a "real" vacation to recover. I have laundry coming out of my ears and I'm finding sand in places where sand shouldn't be. Camp was GREAT! The boys had a blast being at "work" with daddy. I'll post pictures soon.

A Little Bit of Braxton
This kid is bound to get the best of me.
After church today....
Steve: "Braxton, what did you have for snack at church today?"
Braxton: "Gram Crappers"
In the dressing room at Academy....
Braxton: "Mom, if you just put your clothes on over that swimsuit you can sneak right out of here."
Me: "That wouldn't be honest Braxton. You're supposed to pay for things before you take them from a store."
Braxton: "No one would know. You can just sneak it."
Me: "I would know and God would know."
Braxton: "I'm just saying you could do it."
Lord, help me.

Sin is....
a little like homemade chocolate almond joy balls while on a diet. My nice neighbor brought over a sweet box of homemade-ness this evening. The box of yummies sat on our island for a whole hour while my stomach churned with longing and my mouth watered. I looked at them several times, smelled them, walked away, came back, walked away again, told myself "no", and plopped on the couch. As I sat on the couch just feet away from them, I finally said to Steve, "Okay, bring me one of those chocolate balls." He was very supportive and said, "No, I don't want to see you cave."
Just one.....
You see, I have started a new diet and have been doing great for 4 whole days. I knew in my heart of hearts that I shouldn't eat one. It didn't go with "the plan". But I wanted one SO BAD!!!! So, I ate. It started with one....just a little dabbling, and it was so darn good. But I didn't stop with just one. I ate FIVE.
A lofty comparison I know, but think about it.

School's out, School's out....

teacher let the....oh wait, the next part of that catchy jingle isn't all that nice. As an educator and mom, I probably shouldn't continue with the words. But you now have the tune ringing in your head, right? Good luck getting rid of it. I've been trying for several days!
We are so excited that SUMMER is here! One of Jack Johnson's songs (that has nothing to do with summer) says, "When the whole world fits inside of your arms, do we really need to pay attention to the alarm? Wake up slow. Wake up slow." And that's exactly what the Aylor clan is going to be doing for the majority of the summer....wakin' up slow. I love it! We have a few things scheduled here and there, but we will definitely be taking full advantage of having nowhere to go!!
Our sweet Nash is welcoming summer with a nice case of strep throat. Helloooo Summer! It's so wonderful to enjoy the first few days of you!! Looks like our little one is following in his big brother's footsteps with the throat issues. Tonsils out someday? Ugh.
We have a busy summer ahead. Here's the low-down:
*Beach Camp (with the student ministry)
*My birthday
*Our 10 year wedding anniversary
*Braxton's Music Camp at our church (with Miss Pattycake! YAY!)
*Play dates with friends
*Lazy days in the backyard with the slip-n-slide
*Trips to the awesome pool in our neighborhood
*Journey to Arkansas to see my family (while Steve is in England)
*Journey to Houston to see family and friends...yay friends!
*Cleaning out the garage...blah
*Making our backyard look nice so we can enjoy it more
*And lots of "wake up slow days"
As I think about myself going to the pool, I have kick-started a new diet this week. I should have gotten by tail in gear about a month ago (or longer for that part), but nope. I'll let you know how it's going in about a week or so. All I can say is that right now I'm hungry and I have a headache. But I am practicing good willpower this time! I keep looking at my clothes in my closet with dust on them because they don't fit.....soon little pieces of fabric, I will wear you again!
Enjoy your first days of summer!!! Fall and back to school days will be here before we want them to be!
